The World's Most Economical Solar Powered Boat
.....will be appearing at the Port Credit In-Water Boat Show -- Friday August 28 to Sunday August 30th. Canadian Boat Builder and designer of The Humber Foton, John Rowley has continued his family's boat building legacy which was started by his father Ernie, the original creater of the Humber Jewel.
Today, John has expanded his line of boats to include The Humber Foton - a solar powered boat. The Fonton is powered by a Torqueedo 2 or 6hp electric outboard. The power for the outboard comes from a solar array mounted on the front of the Foton. The solar array generates 185 watts of clean solar power which can then charge two 12 volt deep cycle marine batteries. The array is lightweight and is designed specifically for the marine environment.
